29 Faces Day 11

“Fire On the Mountain”

I enjoyed finger painting this colorful background. I started by rubbing on a thick bodied gesso, and then smears of acrylic paints straight out of the tube. When it dried, I did a few black dots and some white acrylic ink lines. This crazy background called for a bold lady! I think she looks right at home…

I would like to give a nod to The Charlie Daniels Band and their song ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’ for the title of this painting. Every time I look at the painting I hear the line from the song that goes, “He played ‘Fire on the Mountain’ run boys run.” Nutty, but true! What can I say? 🙂

    1. Thank you. They are painted on Strathmore ATC Cards for Acrylics. They are a nice heavy weight linen canvas card that don’t warp. The paint stays on top of the surface and doesn’t sink in like watercolor paper. My favorite for sure!
